Supplier Code of Conduct

Landsnet requires its suppliers to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Iceland and other countries where the business originates.

We are committed to the United Nations' guiding principles on ethical business practices. We expect our suppliers to uphold recognised values, including respect for human rights, workers' rights, environmental sustainability, and climate change mitigation.

This Code of Conduct forms the basis of our business relationship with suppliers, and we will, where appropriate, terminate the business relationship with suppliers who do not meet the requirements set out in this Code.

This Code applies equally to suppliers and their sub-contractors.

Landsnet sets out the following requirements:

Human Rights

  • To uphold international human rights and ensure to not violate or contribute to human rights violations.
  • To ensure a work environment characterised by respect for staff.

Child Labour

  • The employment of children under the age of 15 or those of elementary school age is strictly prohibited. However, light work may be permitted for those aged 13 and above if it does not compromise their safety, health, or educational pursuits.
  • This type of work is not permitted after 7:00 PM.

Forced Labour

  • Ensure all employees can work free from harassment, intimidation, or exploitation

Labour Rights and Equality

  • To not discriminate against staff based on gender, political views, religion, disability, nationality, or other factors.
  • Unfair dismissal is considered discrimination.

Wages

  • Staff is paid at least the minimum wage, defined according to relevant laws of the country, and pay wages regularly, at least monthly.
  • Wages should always be paid directly and not through an intermediary, such as emporary work agencies.

Health, Safety, and Environment

Working Conditions

  • To ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and provide access to safety education and appropriate protective equipment to enable them to work safely.

Environmental Issues

  • Complying with international conventions and national laws regarding environmental activities in the applicable country.
  • Aim to reduce carbon footprint, minimise operations' impact on the environment in an organised manner, and use environmental certification wherever possible.

Commerce

  • To conduct business according to high standards and conduct business in compliance with laws and regulations in the relevant country.

Landsnet has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, including bribery, extortion, and embezzlement.
